About
The setting of Sorcery, Silicon, and Scales (or S3, if you really want to keep it short) is an ongoing worldbuilding project that's been bouncing around in my head since 2017 or so. I'm about as subtle as a brick, but the vibe is transgender, transhuman, and leftist.

There are many influences for this, but some are obvious enough that they should be mentioned: SCP’s Global Occult Coalition setting and SCP-4400, every military fiction book written by a deranged conservative that I read as a child, every story that involves a human and a dragon becoming friends, and Proximal Flame's The Last Angel.
Stories and lore entries will generally be set in one of two time periods:
- The Transhuman War, which occurs between the transhumanist Pacific Defense Treaty and the bioconservative Organization for Defense and Integrity from 1760 to 1768 AD. Due to accelerated technological progress in this setting, this time frame corresponds to a near-future military conflict.
- The Orion Cold War, a large but relatively cool conflict (by interstellar scales) between the Orion Council and the Kor Confederacy. While transhumanity is a minor player, the fact that they are (by this point) a species consisting almost entirely of uploads is a matter for concern for the major powers. The Orion Cold War has been ongoing for nearly a millenia, but transhumanity's involvement in it begins around the 2250's.
Content Warning
I'm not going to provide content warnings on posts unless they have something that you wouldn’t expect from military fiction, so this is the big one: The Transhuman War is military fiction. There will be graphic deaths, sometimes of people who do not deserve it. There are dragons involved, so expect incendiaries, chemicals, toxins, and gore. ODI naturally tends to favor exterminationist rhetoric; I will occasionally depict this. I may occasionally describe war crimes. I won’t depict familial abuse or non-consensual sexual acts directly (at least without warning), but I may discuss them.
The Orion Cold War is primarily scifi military fiction, and naturally has a similar list of warnings about people possibly dying messily. While the bad guys are generally not as explicitly fascist as the bad guys during the Transhuman War, and uploads cannot meaningfully die, the universe may not always be a welcoming for transhumans. Also, there's a lot of megatons getting slung around. Things are dangerous.

This is built with Ghost, running on a PikaPods instance. It's really cheap, like two bucks a month plus however much your domain costs (which is also like two bucks a month).
